BP Gas takes its commitment to the environment seriously. As
part of one of the world's leading energy companies and as one of
the UK's leading providers of LPG, you would expect nothing
less.
Our safety record is strong because we insist on highly trained
personnel working to effective procedures, using the right
equipment. In the event of any unfortunate incidents, we work
directly with customers, suppliers and third parties to ensure we
learn and minimise any possible reoccurrence.
BP Gas and climate change
BP Gas supports policies that it believes can address the global
issue of climate change while making it possible for society to
meet growing demand for secure and affordable energy.
Our key product - LPG - is not only a versatile and convenient
fuel, it's also an environmentally friendlier energy source. In
fact it burns more cleanly and releases less CO2 per unit of energy
than other fossil fuels available off the mains gas grid.
BP Gas also manages the Climate Change Levy (CCL) on behalf of
all of its customers that incur this charge. Introduced by the
Government in 2001, the CCL is a tax on the industrial and
commercial use of energy which aims to reduce energy consumption
and contribute to the UK's part in global warming.
